Higher Education IT Executive
Director of User Support & Endpoint Management
San Francisco Bay Regional Network · San Francisco Bay Area, CA
25+ years building and modernizing enterprise IT in higher education and the public sector. Most of my work lives in AWS cloud platforms, cybersecurity compliance, ITSM, and practical AI governance.
About
I lead higher education IT teams across infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, service management, endpoint management, and day-to-day technology operations. The work has to be reliable, and it has to make sense to the people using it. I've spent 25+ years in public-sector and California State University environments, starting with hands-on endpoint and systems work and ending up in director-level leadership of multi-campus organizations.
Right now I direct user support and endpoint management for three CSU campuses (San Francisco State, Cal State East Bay, and Sonoma State) through the San Francisco Bay Regional Network. That means an $8M annual operating budget, a team of 50, roughly 40,000 students and 5,000 faculty and staff, and thousands of service tickets every month. In the past year we cut $800K in annual costs through shared-services consolidation and rolled out enterprise endpoint management with Microsoft Intune and Jamf across the consortium.
The through line in my career is practical modernization. I want services people can actually find and use, less institutional risk, and technology decisions that trace back to what the organization is trying to do. I manage as a servant leader, I lean on data when I have it, and I use AI where it takes real work off my team's plate rather than because it's fashionable.
Multi-campus endpoint management, shared-service consolidation, ITSM maturity, and NIST-based cybersecurity compliance across the CSU system.
